Medication Management for Children & Teens Now Available Right Here in Emmaus, PA

When your child is struggling with anxiety, depression, ADHD, emotional regulation, or other mental health concerns, getting the right support shouldn’t mean joining another endless waitlist.

Pathways for Change is pleased to offer psychiatric medication management right here in our Emmaus practice with Rebecca Loux, PMHNP.

For families already trying to coordinate therapists, pediatricians, schools, specialists, and busy schedules, having medication management available within the same trusted practice can make care feel much more manageable.

Meet Rebecca Loux, PMHNP

Rebecca is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with a genuine passion for working with children, adolescents, and their families.

Her approach is thoughtful, thorough, and individualized.

A first appointment with Rebecca isn’t simply a quick conversation followed by a prescription. She takes time to understand the whole child: their symptoms, history, functioning at home and school, previous treatment, family concerns, and the other factors that may be contributing to what they are experiencing.

Because medication is only one possible part of mental health treatment, Rebecca does not approach every evaluation assuming that a prescription is the answer.

Sometimes it isn’t.

When medication is clinically appropriate, however, she can help families understand the options, discuss potential benefits and side effects, and develop a treatment plan designed specifically for that child.

No More Starting Over Somewhere Else

One of the greatest advantages of receiving medication management at Pathways is continuity of care.

Your child may already have a therapist here who knows them well. Rather than sending families outside the practice to begin again with an entirely new provider and another disconnected system, medication management can now become part of the care we provide right here in Emmaus.

That means greater opportunity for coordination between your child’s treatment providers and a more cohesive experience for your family.

Faster Access to Care

Families throughout the Lehigh Valley know how difficult it can be to find psychiatric care for children and adolescents.

Long waitlists have become increasingly common.

At Pathways, our goal is different: when a child needs an evaluation, we want families to be able to schedule one without waiting months just to be seen.

We are intentionally keeping scheduling accessible so families can get answers and begin moving forward.

Follow-Up That Actually Fits Into Your Life

Medication management does not end with the first appointment.

Regular follow-up is important to determine how a child is responding, whether symptoms are improving, whether side effects are occurring, and whether any adjustments are needed.

Rebecca’s follow-up appointments are designed to make it easier for families to stay consistent with care rather than falling through the cracks because the next available appointment is months away.

Our team can help families schedule follow-ups and stay on track with their treatment plan.

Therapy and Medication. When Both Are Needed

At Pathways for Change, we continue to believe deeply in the importance of therapy, relationships, skill building, and helping children understand themselves.

Medication does not replace that work.

For some children, though, symptoms can become significant enough that therapy alone is not giving them the relief they need. Medication may help reduce those symptoms enough for a child to sleep better, concentrate, regulate emotions, participate more fully in school, or make better use of therapy.

The goal is never simply to prescribe.

The goal is to understand what your child needs and create the most appropriate plan to help them thrive.
